Once upon a time, long long ago, deep in the woods, lived a small soil snail. She was small and plump and called herself snarty. She lived in her own shell, and so was she a traveler. She was a happy snail who loved everyone around her. Probably God knew how she was, nauve and innocent, so He had given her the strongest shell of all. No matter how hard any paw slaps it or any canines chew on her, the shell wouldn’t even crack a bit. So the only way for any animal to gobble her is only when she comes out.
Snarty believed God made her slow to enjoy the details in nature, and she did the exact same. One day, there was a duck named Mucky who was wounded and hungry. None of the other ducks wanted to help Mucky, for he was rude and selfish. Mucky wounded both his feet, running on thorny bushes to catch a bunch of butterflies. He wanted to eat them all as he thought their colours made them yummy as the berries. It had been 2 days since he had eaten anything at all, and he could hear his stomach growl all day long.
Snarty was exploring her new location slowly by the river side. She crawled through the marshy mud, enjoying ever ripple in the water, bathed in sunlight entangled with the shadows of the dancing leaves. Suddenly, she was taken aback by the sudden shadow of Murky, who tried attatcking her. But alasy his wrong timming and distance, Snarty pulled herself inside her shell. After a minute, she slowly peeked outside and moved back. Murky, who was displeased, stated at her hard.
” Why, your dirty little creature moved back! Come here!” Shouted Murky. Snarty, who sensed the rudeness in Murky’s voice, wanted to figure out why he was so rude in this beautiful world. She tried talking to Murky, trying to understand his actions. Slowly, Murky mellowed down. He started crying about how he didn’t have a friend, how everyone hates him. Snarty was so moved that she just wanted Murky to feel better. She promised to be his friend and decided to give Murky a hug. Murky laid there sad and feeling down. Snarty crawled next to Murky to show how much he meant to her. In a matter of seconds, Snarty was gone as Murky grinned, saying, ” The stupid snal!”
