What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is a medical condition where any or many joints in the human body is inflamed or experiences pain and other such related problems. Usually the effected joints appear to be swollen, tender, warm or red. Around each joint, there is a slippery smooth substance known as a ‘cartilage’ to help the lubricant fluid, assist motion. In Arthritis, this cartilage is damaged somehow making the joint swollen and painful in motion.

Medical conditions in which one experiences inflamed joints or joint pains or any related problems is called Arthritis. The slippery smooth substance around each joints are called ‘cartilage’, which is damaged in arthritis and the joints end up swollen, tender, warm or red.

Usually, age is the culprit for arthritis. People beyond the age of 50 are common to this condition. Conveniently, programs as exercise, weight management, nutrition, rest and at times surgery can help overcome the condition. Blood tests and x-rays assist in the detection of arthritis. Some symptoms to arthritis would be joint pain, joint swelling, redness in the area, stiffness in movement especially in the morning.

Arthritis usually is affected to people above 50 years, but proper exercise, weight management, nutrition, rest and timely surgery can recover the condition. Though blood tests and x-rays can detect arthritis, the usual symptoms are joint pain, joint swelling, redness in the area, morning stiffness.
